Zach de la Rocha Makes Surprise Appearance at Run the Jewels D.C. Show

“No matter who won, the day after tomorrow this is our motherfucking country,” Killer Mike said into the mic on Thursday. Run the Jewels did a timely makeup show in Washington D.C. last night and shit got hype. It’d be enough to see RTJ’s particular brand of resistance play out in the belly of the beast on election eve, but the group brought out a very special guest for the occasion: Zack de la fuckin’ Rocha.

The former Rage Against the Machine frontman and El-P collaborator surprised the audience and took the stage to join RTJ on “Kill Your Masters” and “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck).”

Mike also did a variation on “Reagan” which ended with him leading a “fuck Ronald Reagan, fuck Donald Trump” chant. “I don’t give a fuck who is president,” he said. “This is our country. And what we will keep this republic going on is truth, honesty, integrity, love, and democracy.”
