Watch “Enter Pyongyang,” the North Korea-Approved Timelapse Video

North Korea is one of the most mysterious places on Earth, known for their condemnation of foreign coverage. However, this is one viral video that North Korea DOES want you to watch.”Enter Pyongyang” is a collaboration between Koryo Tours, branding specialist JT Singh, and time-lapse photographer Rob Whiteworth, and offers panoramic view of the capital as well as an intimate look inside offices and transit stations.

Though North Korean tourism officials “oversaw” the filming, Singh says his crew wasn’t paid to create the video and that Koryo only covered their travel expenses. Information about North Korea has been steadily trickling out over the past couple years, and this is an in-depth look at the reality of North Korean citizens. Will this video make you want to book Pyongyang for your next vacation? Probably not, but it’s fascinating regardless.
