That Big Vybz Kartel and Wizkid Song Got a Video Last Night

Last night the interwebs were blessed with a new video for the big Vybz Kartel and Wizkid collaboration, “Wine To The Top.” True to the name, it’s full of vixens shaking their bumper and… a cat. The tune is suitably international sounding, bouncing off the record-breaking popularity of “One Dance,” in which the Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid also had a hand. Vybz is all slackness on the verse, “Anything you want you will get, your pum pum / A tell me to spen money, suh.” Beyond that, it’s presumably about dancing—but the wine can be a slippery slope sometimes and the lyrics bear that out.

“To The Top” dropped last month alongside another major Vybz collaboration with Ky-Mani Marley. As anybody paying the slightest bit of attention probably noticed, a life sentence hasn’t slowed down the DJ’s output in the least. While it’s easy to assume he’s recording in prison, he told Rolling Stone that it’s all leftover material that the prolific artist laid down while still a free man. He sure sounds free on the track.
