VIDEO: Naomi Uman’s “Removed” Is Like SFW Porn

Picture a bolt of living electricity, writhing in pornographic ecstasy and you’re partially on the way to grasping what “Removed” captures in this 1999 short from director Naomi Uman. What’s removed, or creatively doctored by Uman, is the female form, leaving you to use your own noggin (or quick pauses) to fill in the blanks; precisely the opposite of most skin flicks.

If you agree with Cam’ron, “it gets boring just looking,” so this trippy mix of grainy, repurposed porn footage’s distorted video gives your imagination a work out, and ears immersed in moans and throwback dialogue from decades ago. Well, almost safe for work.
