Top Ten Tweets

Mass Appeal’s “Top Ten Tweets” of the Week

The artwork for Jay-Z's Magna Cart Holy Grail

We’re back with another edition of Mass Appeal’s “Top Ten Tweets” of the week. It should come as no surprise that one of the hottest topics on Twitter this week was the release of Jay-Z’s new album Magna Carta Holy Grail. Well, it wasn’t actually an album “release,” more like a well-orchestrated exhibition of corporate fuckery. If I had to curate a list of the “Not Top Ten Tweets” of the week, it would include all of the messages Samsung sent from people “unlocking” lyrics from the MCHG app. Real talk, you could have just waited 10 minutes for the lyrics to hit Rap Genius.

I’m not throwing salt at Jay-Z stans with Samsungs, but I know you had an ILL struggle face when the app didn’t work for an hour. Meanwhile, Funk Master Flex is desecrating the album on the radio, you’re reading about it on your timeline, and your Samsung is just chilling with the Kanye-shrug. Okay, now that I got that off my chest, here are what the people of Twitter had to say about Magna Carta Holy Grail aka #MCHG. Enjoy!

Class is in session.

I mean . . . he’s not lying.

I ain’t mad at ya.

Word yo.

Someone is paying attention.

Cool story b… oh wait.

Yeah, like Pablo Picasso…

Y’all didn’t know about the 5th Ninja Turtle?

Yeah man, for like 3 whole days.

That’s it for this week! Do you have a tweet that belongs in next week’s Top 10? Send us your submissions using the hashtag #maTop10Tweet and check back next week to see if it’s been chosen.
