Now Tomi Lahren’s Gone and Pissed Off Her Base
Is this the end? Please?
According to The Daily Caller—the type of outlet that keeps track of the revolving doors at conservative outhouse new outlets—commentator Tomi Lahren has been suspended fromThe Blaze. The controversial Lahren may be parting ways with the company permanently before her contract ends in September.
It was actually when Lahren, who considers herself pro-choice, called pro-lifers “hypocrites” that she got in trouble with the media company. The comments drew ire from The Blaze viewers and readers, including the outlet’s head, CNN veteran Glenn Beck. “It takes intellectual honesty and a willingness to actually think these things through,” said Beck to his The Blaze radio show’s audience this morning, directly after discussing Lahren’s statements. Just three months ago, Lahren bashed pro-choicers, accusing them of having to use coded language to avoid coming off as “baby killers.” Beck continued, “[You have] to do more than just read Twitter and Facebook to get your news and opinions.”
The media firestorm surrounding Lahren’s comments began almost immediately after she uttered them on The View last week. “I am a constitutional, y’know, someone that loves the Constitution,” she said on the show. “I’m someone that’s for limited government. So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government but I think the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”
Before chastising Lahren, Beck expressed confusion over her new position.
