This Guy Designed An Alternative Movie Poster A Day For A Year

“I’m designing a movie poster every day for 2016,” said graphic designer Pete Majarich on his aptly named Tumblr: A Movie Poster A Day. And so, on December 31st, the artist uploaded the last one — it was for Children of Men — bringing the project to a close.

When Majarich first rolled out the creative endeavor, he said that we would try “to create something that’s an alternative take on the existing poster for each film.” Obviously, some in the series were more clever than others. For a few, he took a satirical approach — like the ‘Rocky’ franchise — while with others, he gave them a more minimalist treatment. We compiled our favorites below:

Day 22: TRON

 Day 109: The Godfather

Day 119: They Live

Day 148: Seven

Day 149: Jaws

Day 231: Rocky

Day 233: Rocky II

Day 230: Rocky III

Day 232: Rocky IV

Day 289: The Wolverine

Day 299: Mighty Ducks

Day 322: When Harry Met Sally

Day 356: Apocalypse Now

Day 364: A poster for The Star Wars saga, dedicated to Carrie Fisher

Day 365: Total Recall
