Supreme’s Iconic Banner Apparently Stolen In New York
The ultimate cop
Late last night images surfaced on social media claiming that the Supreme banner had been stolen outside the New York flagship. A Facebook user with the name Zoe Godz identified themselves as the alleged thief.
While we can’t confirm that the banner was stolen, we can confirm that it isn’t hanging where it usually is in front of the store at 274 Lafayette. Since the incident, various images have been going around including a picture of what seems to be someone wrapped in the banner.
According to a since deleted Facebook post in the group Buying and Selling BBC, Bape, Supreme (NYC), Zoe Godz had several offers in the $500 range for the banner from various Facebook users. For many New Yorkers, the apparent theft could be viewed as revenge for not releasing the highly anticipated Louis Vuitton collaboration in New York.
Although Supreme wasn’t available to comment, the banner could have also been taken down due to construction or the season ending.
