Stussy x Yo! MTV Raps Collection & Documentary

Were it not for Yo! MTV Raps, hip hop would not be the massively successful genre that it is today. The show provided insight into the hip hop culture that was previously unseen to the masses. The influence that Yo! MTV Raps played in the lives of today’s artists reaches volumes.

As a nod to all things hip hop, Stüssy collaborated with Yo! MTV Raps for an entire capsule collection, featuring some of the most notable guests from the show. The line contains an array of t-shirts, crew necks, and hoodies featuring iconic photos of hip hop legends Ice-T, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, Gang Starr, Digital Underground, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Eric B. & Rakim, De La Soul, and Brand Nubian.

Along with the clothing collection, Stüssy also produced a two-part documentary in honor of the collaboration entitled, “We Were All Watching.” The first episode, “The Importance of the Yo! MTV Raps” focuses on the rich history of the program while the second, “Fashion in the Golden Age of Hip Hop,” recounts the fashion styles and trends that hip hop influenced. The doc features classic names in the game while also giving shine to some names that are relevant in today’s rap scene.

The Stüssy x Yo! MTV Raps Collection is available now via the Stüssy Web-Store!
