Roger Gastman and Jonathan LeVine Talk “Cruel Summer” Over Pizza

If you haven’t checked out Roger Gastman’s “Cruel Summer” show at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery, no worries. You can watch this clip and get a taste… of the show, not the pizza.

The video comes courtesy Complex, who sat with Roger Gastman and gallery owner Jonathan Levine as they discussed the show, its participating artists, and how Gastman went about curating the show. (Artists include Ben Venom, Blade, Caleb Neelon, Cleon Peterson, Cope, Dabs Myla, Eric Haze, Finok, Freedom, Horfe, HuskMitNavn, Mark Bode, Maya Hayuk, Mike Ballard (Cept), Mike Giant, Niagara, Pose, Revok, Rime, Risk, Sam Friedman, Shepard Fairey, Tim Conlon, and Victor Reyes.)

You can also get a glimpse of the pizza eating contest between Gastman and the ever-eccentric Jonathan LeVine, who happens to be decked out in a “Po the Teletubby” costume (he should be good as long as he keeps out of Times Square).

Hit the video player up top to check out the preview of the show. And if you like what you see, hit the ground running because “Cruel Summer” will be closes on August 23. We’ve included the addresses and hours for the two corresponding NYC galleries playing host to the show below:

557C West 23rd Street: 6-8pm
529 West 20th Street: 7-9pm
