Report: Kanye’s So Paranoid He Wouldn’t Let Doctors Touch Him
West's condition has reportedly worsened over the last week
What was originally presented as a precautionary hospital visit has apparently developed into something more significant for Kanye West, per a new TMZ report.
Last Monday, shortly after the announcement that he’d be cancelling the remaining dates on his Saint Pablo tour, West was willingly admitted to a UCLA medical center, where he was treated for “exhaustion.” His mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, went so far as in to say that West was “good,” despite the circumstances.
However, this report suggests otherwise. TMZ cites sources “close to Kim and Kanye” that say that West is “profoundly depressed,” and was convinced people–even his caregivers–were “out to get him.” At one point, the “Fade” rapper allegedly didn’t allow doctors to touch him due to paranoia.
During West’s trying time, he’s received an outpouring of support and prayer from his peers and fans. Chance The Rapper appeared to cut the remainder of his own tour–the Magnificent Coloring Tour–short so he could return to the U.S. and support Kanye. One of West’s early frequent collaborators, Twista, penned a heartfelt open letter offering his support for West, while Talib Kweli, one of Kanye’s earliest mentors, offered words of wisdom on Twitter.
Doctors would reportedly like to have West home and under the watchful eye of his personal medical team, news of which should be available tomorrow. We’ll be sure to update you once details surface.
