Princess Nokia Gets Weird in the Streets For “G.O.A.T.” Video

Princess Nokia spends much of her new video for “G.O.A.T.” speeding around New York City in a Polaris Slingshot, rapping about embracing what makes her unique. Or as she puts it, “Hate to burst your bubble, bitch/ I’m the weird girl that’s running shit.”

“G.O.A.T.” is the new single from the upcoming 1992 Deluxe, the re-release of Nokia’s debut album. She’s been promising on Instagram that it will arrive with six new tracks, and on the first, Nokia confidently explodes on this Wally West beat.

Co-director Milah Libin and Nokia are able to craft a video that’s undeniably tough and simultaneously sexy.  Sporting a debatably tacky McDonalds jacket and a crimson Yankee fitted, Nokia celebrates a classic New York look while emphasizing some new dental embellishments that might be inspired by some of her Memphis heroes who she pays tribute to through the lines,”I bump bump that Gangsta Boo, that Loko, that La Chat/ I respect that trill shit and them O.G.s that really rap.”

Currently in the midst of a 31-stop world tour, Princess Nokia will return to the States to play Summer Stage in Central Park on July 12th.
