PREMIERE: Supawave Osbourne, Vast Aire, Double A.B., Mo Iz Real, and An Hobs Form the “Iron Fists”
Take a leisurely stroll through New York City
Hip hop may have started as a party startin’ and crowd rockin’ artistic expression, but then emcees took it to a new level as a test of lyrical dexterity and creativity. And then rappers like Aesop Rock and Blackalicious took the stage to share what they thought hip hop could become. A product of this generation, Supawave Osbourne came up with a bumping new track with a few of his friends that will be on his upcoming project The SupaWave Mixtape. His style is comparable to Kool Keith in its flows. He’s joined by Vast Air of Cannibal Ox, Double A.B., Mo Iz Real, and An Hobs. The beat is an east coast boom bap take on a reggae rhythm.
The video features Supawave strolling through NYC alongside a masked friend who seems to be having a fine day of his own. Supawave had this to say about the track via email:
“This classic style posse track came together one special night after heavy sessions of building on general knowledge and ancient wisdom. The 5 mc’s here each functioning as individuals and as parts of a whole, like fingers. And like fingers they form to make a hold that is strong. In this case, IRON STRONG. They form the IRON FIST to knock out all haters and opposition to the strong flows. Vast Aire is the thumb/the grip, Double A.B. the index/the pointer, Supawave Osbourne the middle finger/F.U., Mo Iz real the Ring/Kiss the Ring, An Hobs the Pinky/the brain.”
