PREMIERE: Stik Figa and Elzhi Know Their Worth on “Down Payment”

Stik Figa and Elzhi are no strangers to the rap game. The Topeka, Kansas and Detroit, Michigan artists, respectively, have done their due diligence and catalogs to show for it. And Mello Music Group recognizes that. Stik’s next album-Central Standard Time–has found a home with MMG and the first single is stacked with a feature from Elzhi and production from Nottz.

With an underwater arpeggio beat from Nottz, Stik and El convincingly make their cases for why they deserve a slice of the pie as much as the next guy. The two emcees don’t rely on stunt raps but bars that hit home for those who have been with them since Day 1.

For the rest of Stik’s album, you can expect production from L’Orange, Illmind, Apollo Brown, Black Milk, Exile, and D/Will. Stik Figa had this to say about the song via email:

“‘Down Payment’ is a special song because it feels like I am still paying dues, though I have been around for a while now. I have been blessed to share the microphone with some of my heroes and peers alike. I am never sure if this pursuit will pay off, but, at the least I got to share with those who listened, ‘what I know’.”

You can pre-order the album here.
