PREMIERE: Raekwon Reminisces on Pool Cosby’s “A Poem Is A Hustle”

Seeing OGs like Ghostface Killah make whole albums with groups like BADBADNOTGOOD always puts a smile on our faces because they bridge the gap between generations and end up with a dope album. So we were happy to see Raekwon experiment a little more with the electronic group Pool Cosby out of Brooklyn for this new track “A Poem Is A Hustle.” Off of their upcoming Blind Gold album (2017), the new single provides a moment for you to travel back to kick it with a younger Rae with a beat chilled on ice. The second half of the song slows down even more to ease you back into present day.

The track also features Elena and Samora Pinderhughes (keys, vocals, flute). They recently took a trip to the White House to perform with Common, Bilal, and Robert Glasper for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert.

You can catch producer Jacuzzi Jefferson, violinist Kevin Kuh, and drummer Otto Botté at the live NYC shows below.

12/1: Pianos (DJ Set)
12/13: Ludlow House
1/17: Bowery Electric
