PREMIERE: Get Blazed With Collie Buddz on “Good Life”
"Hold a vibes and burn the marijuana"
“The main inspiration behind the new song ‘Good Life’ is the idea that one should live every day like it’s your last,” says Bermudan rude boy Collie Buddz. “Between work, family, bills etc., life can get hectic and sometimes it’s necessary to step back / take some time for yourself and just let loose.” The artist who came in the game with the herbalist anthem “Come Around” knows a thing or two about kicking back with a good draw.
Today MASS APPEAL premieres “Good Life,” the title track from Collie’s first album in ten years, due to be released May 19th on the Harper Digital label. “Creating music has always been an outlet for me to express myself and free up,” the artist says. “I hope this song and my music can continue to serve as an escape for those that need it.”
Never one to chase Tropical House trends, Collie Buddz’s latest release is a raw rub-a-dub selection that stays true to the authentic dancehall sounds heard throughout his catalog. “The song was produced by my good friend and one of my favorite producers of all time, Supa Dups,” Collie adds. “Not only has he produced some of my best tracks (“Blind To You Haters,” “Tomorrow’s Another Day,” “Sensimilla”) but he is also responsible for some of the biggest recent hits (Drake & Popcaan’s “Controlla,” and “Too Good” by Drake ft. Rihanna).”
Pre-order Collie’s forthcoming album Good Life here. You can catch him during his massive U.S. tour from April through the summer. He kicks things off, appropriately enough, at the 4/20 Reggae Fest on April 22 in Daly City, CA.
