PREMIERE: Boiler Room and Tate Kobang Show You His Side of Baltimore & New Song “All Dat”
You can keep that glitz and glamour to yourself
Tate Kobang is doing something a lot of people often forget about when it comes to discussing what hip hop started out as–giving people a reason to have a good ass time. Being from the East side of Baltimore, he’s been putting on for the city on multiple levels with his music that aims to get the city’s collective mind off of the terrible news that has plagued them recently: the Freddie Gray case, wild protests and looting in the streets, and the ever present gun violence. His hit “Bank Rolls” caught the eye of 300, landing him a deal and the respect of his city, namely Baltimore OG Tim Trees.
Boiler Room headed down to the Charm City with Tate Kobang to show you the people he holds dear to his life (Uncle Jimmy, his very talented grandmother), his home, and what it feels like to be a part of the city. The video features interviews with Tim Trees, 92Q’s DJ Porkchop, and his crew. You can also check out a premiere of the song he’s seen recording in the video, “All Dat.” It goes outside the Baltimore club feel but will have the streets continuing to talk about Tate Kobang.
