Post Malone and Rich Chigga: Real Friends

Post Malone is fucking flexing. The Dallas rapper dropped his platinum debut album, Stoney, last year, and has experienced immense Billboard success with “Congratulations,” which wasn’t the lead or follow-up single for the LP. In fact, he’s the only rap act that’s had a song on the Billbaord Hot 100 for over 30 consecutive weeks. That’s a run that even guys like Drake and Kendrick Lamar can’t cop to.

And who said the flexing was relegated to the charts?

During his appearance at Day ‘N’ Nite festival this weekend, Post and his buddy Rich Chigga were celebrating Chigga’s birthday when Post pulled out quite the surprise: a cake—duh—but also a live choir, which organized quickly backstage and serenaded the Indonesian-born rapper with a rendition of his own recent release, “Glow Like Dat,” which made him happier than Future in a pharmacy. See for yourself above.

Just look at how he bops while maintaining the balance of the cake. Priceless. When you’re 18-years-old and halfway across the world pursuing a career, gestures like this aren’t easily forgettable.

To boot, Post was recently on the receiving end of a gesture much like this one—courtesy of Chigga. At this year’s Rolling Loud festival in Miami in May, Chigga surprised Post Malone with a rendition of his smash “Congratulations” performed by a mariachi band. Post never forgot it, and now his replication has already racked up nearly 1 million views on YouTube in just under 24 hours.

If this is all a precursor to the obligatory forthcoming Post Malone and Rich Chigga joint EP, well done, rappers.
