Open Space with Jay IDK
DMV's next up delivers knowledge so ignorantly.
“Money has the ability to change everybody and everything,” says Jay IDK, whose name is an abbreviation for “Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge.” Still the Marlyand-based MC has no fear of legal tender, having premiered his Empty Bank album last year on Forbes. Inspired to rap by Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP, Jay used to steal Em’s rhymes and stunt on the bus to school. In college he dropped a mixtape called Sex, Drugs & Homework and soon abandoned plans to pursue a career in computer coding. Having recently linked with studio genius Mike Dean, Jay continues to make new music and take meetings. But he’s in no rush to sign a record deal. “The game is changing every fucking day,” says the buzz-worthy MC. “When you hear about me you don’t think of a record. You just think of Jay IDK. I think that’s a great position to be in.”
