Nike Finally Reveals Off-White Collab With 10 Redesigned Classics
"AIR" Jordans and "AIR" Maxes
After months of teasers and leaked images, Nike has finally revealed its heavily anticipated collaboration with designer Virgil Abloh and his streetwear brand Off-White. Announced by Nike’s press team today, the first five sneakers will be pre-released at NikeLab stores in four cities next month.
The first five include four Nike classics: the Air Jordan I, Blazer, Air Presto, Air Max 90 and the new Air VaporMax. These are titled the “REVEALING” collection, which is centered around Abloh’s vision of rearranging logos and giving the sneakers a DIY, cut and sew aesthetic. Abloh told Nike that the designs for “REVEALING” were conceived in less than a week. “The Jordan I was done in one design session. I work in a very like dream-like state. I see it, and it’s done,” he said.
The second collection is titled “GHOSTING” and is centered around the idea of translucency. This collection also features three other reinvented classics: the Air Max 97, Air Force 1 Lows and the Converse Chuck Taylor. It also features two new sneakers released by Nike this year, the Zoom Fly SP and the Hyperdunk 2017. The “GHOSTING” series gives off a more subtle look with minimal, yet radical, changes.
The first five shoes will first drop at NikeLab shops in New York City (September 9 to 13) London (September 18 to 22), Milan (September 21 to 25) and Paris (September 26 to 30.) If you don’t want to wait on what is going to probably be one of the most hectic/chaotic sneaker lines this year, you will have to roll your dice when all 10 drop online in November.
