Nicki Minaj Allegedly Bore Witness to Judge’s Bizarre Meek Mill/Boyz II Men Request

The allegations made against Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley by Meek Mill’s attorney Joe Tacopina, which include that Brinkley tried to convince Meek to sign a management deal with a sketchy associate, have been arguably the most unsettling emergent detail in the aftermath of Meek’s recent sentencing. On Monday, Meek was sent back to prison for at least two years for a series of probations violations, and much of the public outrage from fans and the hip hop community stems from Brinkley’s alleged vendetta against the rapper. Well, as it happens, Tacopina’s word may not be the only one available. The attorney says Meek’s very famous ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, was present when Brinkley’s bizarre reported Boyz II Men remix request was made.

In an interview with Billboard published on Monday, Tacopina revealed Brinkley and Meek’s troubling history, highlighted by Meek denying Brinkley’s request for a strange remix of the Boyz II Men song “On Bended Knee,” to be dedicated to the justice. As Tacopina tells The Fader, he and Meek weren’t the only ones within earshot. Because she appeared in court to testify on Meek’s behalf while the two still had a romantic relationship, Nicki Minaj was present at proceedings this past December. And during one of those court sessions, in Brinkley’s chambers with Minaj present, the request was made.

As Fader points out, it was reported that same day that Nicki and Meek were brought into the judge’s chambers after Minaj pledged her support for her then boyfriend.

All of this information and then some will likely be presented on Meek’s behalf at a forthcoming appeal, as Tacopina has expressed his wish to have Brinkley removed from the case, citing the notion that it should’ve concluded several years ago. The attorney says there will be no immediate need to summon Minaj to testify, but added that he and his team will do “whatever” is necessary to “correct” this “perversion of justice.”

Meek’s legal team has begun that process, which will hopefully be more fruitful than a recent petition, which was formally shot down by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s office this week.
