New Reports on Kanye Say Anniversary of Mother’s Death Set Off Meltdown
New details on Kanye emerge, confirming the suspicions of many
On November 20, 2007, Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, passed away in Los Angeles. On November 20, 2016, Kanye West cancelled a show in Los Angeles, then cancelled the rest of his tour 12 hours later. The correlation has loomed enormously.
Still, up until today, people close to Kanye West had been using generic terms like “exhaustion” to describe the reason why he was willingly admitted to a UCLA medical center last Monday. His mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, wholly dismissed the situation all together. He’s “good,” she reportedly told People.
Over a week later, Kanye West is still in the hospital, and by all indication his status has worsened. TMZ recently reported that he was–at one point, at least–so paranoid, he wouldn’t let doctors touch him. Doctors had reportedly hoped to have ‘Ye home and in the care of his personal medical staff by Monday, but well into Wednesday afternoon, it doesn’t appear that those wishes were granted.
Today, new details point to the very aforementioned death-aversary of Donda West as the key catalyst of Kanye’s apparent meltdown. As TMZ‘s sources put it, the pressures of balancing his impossibly demanding lifestyle, coupled with at least two areas of coping, Kim’s robbery and Donda’s passing, nearly drove Kanye mad. They went further to allege that it’s not just the death-aversary, but also the fact that Kanye didn’t initially properly deal with his mother’s passing.
That’s some weight to shoulder. All that considered, Kanye is apparently still trying to be Kanye West in the hospital, and looking to get studio equipment to his hospital room. Kim is having none of it.
Understandable, given the circumstances.
