Nas Zane Lowe Interview 2014

Nas Sits Down With Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1

Nas has been busy this week with his promo run for Illmatic XX, and it continues with his recent interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. The two spoke about Nas’ experiences with the producers of Illmatic, giving some unheard insight into the process of making “The World Is Yours” with Pete Rock, saying:

“I remember talking to Kanye about beats and he was telling me which beat he gave – like ‘All of the Lights,’ he gave to Jeezy or he gave another beat to Common and Common didn’t want it. And he heard it for his album and used it. These guys are giving us their A-1 stuff and sometimes we don’t see their vision. I tell you what, when he gave me ‘The World Is Yours,’ I saw it right there, I knew what it was.”

Listen to Nas talk more with Zane Lowe about DJ Premier, Q-Tip, Large Professor, and more below.
