Melania Trump Hates Her New Job

On Friday, Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States in what White House press secretary Sean Spicer says was the “most-watched” inauguration ceremony ever. Whether or not aggregated audience numbers confirm that remain to be seen, but he can rest assured that all eyes are on Trump during this moment. Melania Trump, that is.

While President Trump signs executive orders and continues to send Spicer out to blow smoke at reporters, Melania Trump has momentarily stolen the show, but not with her powder blue inauguration ensemble. Instead, it’s the face she made after her husband looked away from her during the swearing-in process. In the video clip below, you can see her return Donald’s hearty smile, then fade into an unmistakable, brow-furring frown as he about-faced. Even the fact checkers at Snopes have confirmed her grimace.

Much has been made about Melania’s role in Donald’s presidency, especially since her RNC spech debacle, but even without thinking too hard, this video clip is telling. On the surface, maybe she’d been out in the January air far too long and was ready to get on with the First Lady thing already. (Spoiler: I was in Washington that weekend, even without the sun it felt like mid-50’s.) If you’re willing to go a level deeper, however, you might say in that very moment, Melania got a glimpse of what her life would be for the next 4 years, and she wasn’t pleased with the view.

You be the judge.
