Meek Mill Actually Had to Tell Paparazzi He Didn’t Rob Nicki Minaj
Shame on you, America
Earlier this month, Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj broke up. Since then, many jokes have been made at Meek’s expense, and regardless of the bewildering 18-month stretch he’s had, it may be no fault of his own. It’s Nicki Minaj; the only rappers she likely wouldn’t dwarf in Who Wears the Social Media Pants court are already married: Jay Z and Kanye.
But, because of semantics and the universe and an unfortunate series of Twitter updates, Meek has suffered yet another social setback to kick off his 2017. Nicki is single, and at packed arena shows saying things like this post-break-up, and things like the following clip, taken from Nicki’s TIDAL X: 1015 show in New York, are being represented as evidence of foreshadowing.

I’ve said all this to say, the table was set long ago for Meek to be asked this question, in the wake of reports that Nicki Minaj’s home has been burglarized for roughly $200,000 in jewelry and other property: ‘did you do it, Meek?’
There’s so much to unpack, there, but let’s focus on two ideas. The idea that Meek, a successful by every possible indication, fresh off a mixtape that debuted at #3 on Billboard, is out here robbing his famous ex-girlfriend out of spite is pretty absurd. But, objectively, don’t you think someone concerned with staying away from a potentially career-ending jail sentence for violating probation would think twice before robbing one of the most famous people on the planet? When there’s motive all over the tabloids?
paparazzi America. Much better.
