MED “Caddy Music” ft. Blu & Elzhi

With label dynamics fluctuating on a constant basis, the media likes to play out an imaginary war between the majors and independents. But in reality, they’re all probably more concerned with making the next release the best it can be. That’s the case at least for MED’s Bang Ya Head label. They’re celebrating their 10th anniversary with the fourth entry of their Bang Ya Head series this Friday. The compilation album will feature production from Dibia$e, Madlib, Oh-No, and more with Blu, MED, Kokane, Guilty Simpson, Gangrene, Elzhi, Mibbs and others providing the rhymes.

The first release is “Caddy Music,” which contains three individual beats from producer Bombay, one for each emcee. Blu proves how much of a tough guy he is while MED spits luxurious lyrics about his lifestyle. Elzhi closes out the track, walking listeners through his childhood streets of Detroit. Listening through the track from start to end should give you an idea of what it would feel like to ride around with each artist in his Cadillac. Just sit there, don’t touch nothing, and open your ears.

You can pre-order the album on vinyl or iTunes.
