ScHoolBoy Q Mass Appeal Groovesshark CMJ

Mass Appeal x Groove Shark CMJ Takeover Recap

Last week was a wild one for music, as CMJ took over New York City. We couldn’t help but involve ourselves in the fun and throw a showcase of our own. Alongside Grooveshark, we tookover Webster Hall for a night of raucous rap hosted by Power 105’s Angela Yee.

ScHoolboy Q, who walks the line on our Issue 53 cover, headlined the show, bringing out new T.D.E. signee Isaiah Rashad in the middle of his set. The West Coast was well represented throughout the night, as Casey Veggies tore down the stage before Q and crew came out.

But New York was in the house as well, with A$AP Mob rolling at their usual depths. Nast, Ant, and Twelvy brought out Ferg who brought out Rocky and the crowd went hysterical as “Work” and “Shabba” rang off throughout the East Village.

Other performers included Biship Nehru and The Bots with respectably killer sets. Shouts to all who sponsored the night: Supra, Maker Music, Rock Smith, Karmaloop, Flat Fitty, and Top Dawg Music. Salute. We had a blast and judging by the above video it looks like everyone did as well.
