Exclusive: Marvel’s iLoveMakonnen-Inspired Variant Cover for ‘The Unbelievable Gwenpool #1’

We have religiously covered Marvel’s Hip-Hop Variants since they were announced back in July because…hip hop and comics, yo! We have posted every cover in the series so far, which now stands at over 60 variants. We even premiered three of the dopest covers (Spider-Man/Nas, All New All Different Avengers/The Roots, and Hawkeye/Pete Rock & CL Smooth) and interviewed Marvel’s editor-in-chief, Axel Alonso, about the impetus behind the line.

So, it makes sense that we premiere the latest Hip-Hop Variant, a riff on iLoveMakkonen’s self-titled debut EP. We also give you a taste of the other recently revealed Hip-Hop Variant, which is an homage to the unparalleled J Dilla.
