Lou the Human Doesn’t Fux With Fake News
Fairly insane and totally imbalanced
Given the distinguished rise of Lil Pump and his SoundCloud cohorts, “ignorant” may be the perfect word to describe the sound of 2017. Pump and his peers have embraced the term, and while the rhymes are usually straightforward jabs without much complexity to them, Lou the Human is perhaps one of the few lyrically-minded exceptions in the ignorant vein. Except while Lou might be similarly deranged, unlike Pump and friends, the Human can actually spit.
Hailing from Staten Island, New York, the young MC’s flow and content is at times reminiscent of early Odd Future. On his debut project, Humaniac, which came out last week, Lou raps endlessly and effortlessly, with little to no hooks. He rhymes about his ridiculous amounts of drug use, his, um, problematic relationship with girls (read: rape jokes) and family troubles. All political correctness is set aside for bars upon bars of heat. Like a young Tyler and a young Eminem before him, Lou leans in hard for shock value. “I’m still tryna get in the Illuminati/ Me and Trump doing donuts in the new Bugatti,” he raps on his new single, “Who Knows.”
His music video for that song is the continuation of a visual theme he’s been developing for all his clips. Each is done in a single-shot and features a man in a grotesque mask. This time Lou, dressed as a janitor, and his companion walk around wreaking havoc on a television news studio dubbed Fux News. And no, Lou isn’t fuxxing with it.
