Lil Yachty Pops His Claws on “X Men”

Lil Yachty’s anticipated debut album Teenage Emotions drops next week on May 26. So far we’ve gotten a taste of what Lil Boat has got in store for us with lighthearted tracks like “Peek A Boo,” “Harley” and the ’80s-inspired “Bring It Back.”

But the new track “X Men” is a change of pace for the the red-headed Atlanta rapper. It’s an unapologetic track with some chest-pounding production and El Paso’s Evander Griiim on the hook. Over a blown-out beat Yachty goes in with an uncharacteristically speedy and vengeful flow.

With Yachty free from the syrupy curtain of Auto-Tune he’s actually got some bars. But for strictly lolz, the line of the song may be, “You’re dirty and stinky like farts.”

On the track below the rapper who once said that he’s “happy everyday” shows us that there’s far more to Teenage Emotions than hazy prom night memories. There’s some real mad alone in your bedroom anger in there as well.

I’d be pissed too if Joe Budden talked to me like that.
