Trump-Loving CNN Anchor Fired For Tweeting Nazi Stuff
"Nazi salutes are indefensible," said a CNN spokesperson
The people acting as Trump’s megaphone at CNN are dropping daily. Earlier this week Kayleigh McEnany left the network for a job as an official GOP spokesperson. Her first interview in her new role was an exclusive with Breitbart. Then CNN had to fire their most annoying and arguably most racist Trump admirer, Jeffrey Lord, for pushing Nazi lingo on Twitter.
Lord tweeted “Sieg Heil” at Angelo Carusone—the president of progressive watchdog group Media Matters—at which point he was promptly fired by the network.
“Sieg Heil” is popular salute used by Nazis in Hitler’s Germany, but it’s remained popular amongst fascists and racists. Here are a bunch of neo-Nazis in Finland shouting the phrase two years ago.
“Nazi salutes are indefensible,” a CNN spokesperson said in a statement to CNN’s media reporter Brian Stelter (yes, we know that’s kind of weird). “Jeffrey Lord is no longer with the network,” it added.
And here's full thread. His hit piece on me spelled my name wrong, literally in the headline, I pointed it out and he screams "Sieg Heil!" pic.twitter.com/eHJdnzSYSp

“I love CNN, but I feel they are caving to bullies here,” the former Ronald Reagan staffer told Stelter in a phone interview.
Lord, who was CNN’s first explicitly pro-Trump commentator, also writes for The American Spectator, a far-right (not alt-right) conservative media outlet. Earlier this week he called Media Matters, the group over which Carusone presides, “Media Matters Fascists,” saying they were “anti-free speech bigots who, in typical fascist style, make it their mission to shut down speech they don’t like.”
Lord and Carusone were Twitter-beefing because Media Matters has been running attack ads against Fox News. The group is targeting advertisers for Sean Hannity’s show in an attempt to get them to pull their ads because of Hannity’s bigotry.
“This is America, Angelo. Not Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany or Communist Russia,” he wrote on Twitter. “Your headline has a mistake in it,” Carusone responded, “Why do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you don’t take yourself seriously?”
Lord had misspelled Carusone’s name.
Lord’s responded with “Sieg Heil” and even after being met with the internet’s outrage he refused to apologize. “I’m mocking people who are posing a serious threat to the American free press,” he told CNN’s Brian Stelter. “That’s what I’m mocking.”
Now he’s fired, great. About time. Here’s a nice selection of all the other stuff CNN let him get away with over the past two years. CNN also recently fired the one host who called Donald Trump a piece of shit.
