This Glitter iPhone Case Was Recalled For Burning People’s Faces
Who thought glitter could get any worse?
As if a glitter iPhone case wasn’t bad enough, these ones can burn your face off.
The seemingly innocuous iPhone cases, filled with a mysterious fluid that glitter floats around in, was recalled nationally today. Nearly 275,000 cases were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission on Monday because it was reported that the liquid inside would cause burns and skin irritation.
The case was sold through online retailers such as Amazon and chains like Victoria’s Secret. Manufactured in China by the company MixBin, the CPSC listed 24 reports worldwide about the dangerous liquid glitter. One unfortunate buyer reported permanent scarring caused by a chemical burn from the iPhone case.
Ericka Lindsey was one unlucky person who had the case crack open while she was sleeping on her bed. In her post on Facebook, Lindsey wrote that the liquid smelled “Like strong gas/very toxic” and that it felt as if her skin “Was literally on fire.” She wrote that she went to the ER and was put on topical steroids.
PLEASE READ: DO NOT purchase these cute ass cases with the liquid and glitter!!! Remember I made a post about a week…
So what’s the takeaway? If you need glitter, at least don’t cop glitter in liquid.
