Fashawn Keeps His Bars Up With Versatile New EP ‘Manna’
The Fresno rapper makes his comeback with Snoop Dogg and a boatload of bars in tow
As the summer winds down, Fresno rapper Fashawn is only turning up his heat levels. With a few singles already in rotation and a fan base yearning for a project, the Left Coast spitter returns to the scene today with the nine-track EP Manna, his first release since 2015’s The Ecology.
Fashawn has been warming up since last month, when he dropped his controversial “Mother AmeriKKKa,” which cast the Kardashian-West family in a negative light. Last week he dropped “Moses,” a track that hammers home biblical themes of loyalty that help define Fashawn’s latest project. With this week’s “Fashawn,” he serves a reminder of just how good he is at rapping over Large Professor instrumentation. Now we get to experience Manna in its entirety, featuring an appearance from Snoop Dogg on “Pardon My G.”
Manna may not be the full-length album fans have been awaiting, but it’s a more-than-adequate refresher course on the havoc he can wreak with his time-tested pen. If anything, anticipation for the Mass Appeal Records rapper’s next LP will only heighten after fans dig into this release. You can holler at Fashawn this afternoon, as he hosts a Reddit AMA at 4 p.m. EST.
Stream Manna here via Apple Music, Spotify, or Tidal.
