Eminem Finally Joins the Presidential Race Conversation, Drops New 7-Minute Cut, “Campaign Song”

Eminem has been characteristically quiet recently. That’s come to an end today with “Campaign Song,” a 7-minute cut that finds the Detroit legend discussing the political landscape, Donald Trump, and the imminent general election.

Just 20 days before the nation decides its next leader, Em comes in full force on “Campaign Song,” a blistering cut in which he relies heavily on his dizzying rhyme schemes and metaphors, and little on instrumental. He calls Trump a puppet, yearns revenge for Trayvon Martin and other victims of police brutality, and derides America’s tax bracket parity with wild erotic imagery.

This should come as a surprise to no one. Eminem’s been raising eyebrows and dropping jaws for nearly two decades. Concerning Trump specifically, however, this isn’t the first time Em has gone at the controversial Republican nominee. Last year, in a similarly lengthy freestyle, Em came down hard on Trump and Bill Cosby, making fun of Trump’s perceived fear of Mexican immigration.

This time, he goes straight for the jugular. Listen below.
