Dr Dre Hip Hop First Billionaire

Dr. Dre Announces He’s Hip Hop’s First Billionaire

The news broke yesterday that Apple is reportedly in talks with Beats Electronics to purchase the company for $3.2 Billion. If the deal goes through, it would be the largest acquisition in Apple’s history. It will also make Dr. Dre a very, very wealthy man and theoretically hip hop’s first billionaire. Well, according to the good doctor, that big payday may be on the way sooner than we think.

Early this morning, Tyrese posted a series of videos on Instagram in the studio with Dr. Dre, in which Dre announces that he has indeed become hip hop’s first billionaire:

“The first billionaire in hip hop, right here from the motherfucking West Coast— believe me.”

Tyrese can’t contain his excitement and starts C-walking while banging on non-billionaires.

While we won’t rule out a possible troll (remember that one time Dre said, “Lookout for Detox”? Yeah, that was in 2005), we doubt Dre would risk jeopardizing the deal by announcing its completion before the papers are signed. So, congrats to the big homie!

Check out the rest of the videos of Tyrese and Dr. Dre celebrating the good news below, and as always: Lookout for Detox.

The videos Tyrese originally posted to Instagram have been removed, but a full length video of the exchange between him and Dr. Dre has since been uploaded.
