PREMIERE: DirtyDiggs x Supreme Cerebral’s “Novelty” Video

Lately we’ve been treating you to a lot of premieres by MCs and producers from a new movement within hip hop that observes tradition while elevating the game. Names like Hus Kingpin, Rozewood, JuneLyfe, Recognize Ali, and Ty Farris have all dropped new music with us within the last week or so. It turns out someone has the same taste as us…

When we touched base with Gold Chain Military’s in-house beatmakers DirtyDiggs about giving our readers something new from their upcoming album Petty Tendergrass, we got a sneak peek at the tracklist. Every artist previously mentioned is on there, some are on two tracks. They also have songs on the album with Mass Appeal favorites like Planet Asia, Big Twins, and LMNO.

So it seems like this premiere was meant to be, because we wanted to give y’all something from up-and-coming lyrical swordsman Supreme Cerebral and it just so happens DirtyDiggs had a track with him on Petty Tendergrass as well.

Supreme has been highly prolific as of late, dropping hip-hop quotables alongside other top spitters of this burgeoning scene like Spit Gemz, SmooVth, and Banish Habitual. However, the video above is Supreme showing that he needs no assistance when it comes to bodying a beat. DD’s production sounds like something Preemo would have cooked up for Jeru in ’96—all dramatic piano notes and hard snares. If you’re checking the video as you read this, peep it again and pay close attention to the bars.

DirtyDiggs’ Petty Tendergrass will be available at all digital outlets on Sept. 7.
