420 Space: Devin The Dude

When Devin the Dude stopped by a couple of weeks ago to kick shit, bless us with an rendition of the first rap that got him some shine, and basically spread good vibes and drink our good beer (suspicious!), he told us a story that will send chills up any stoner’s spine. Turns out, everyone’s favorite Texas toker had recently had an encounter with troopers that left him locked up and a little light in the pocket.

“A couple days in jail and after all kinds of fines and lawyer fees I ended paying about $3500 to $4000 for a small ass joint” Devin tells us, in this special 4/20 edition of Open 420 Space.

Watch the video to hear the entire story and take it as a warning if you ever think of lighting a fat one in the Lone Star state. The uber-conservative state is known for having some of the harshest weed laws in America. Carrying any amount of weed under two ounces is a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and up to $2000 in fines. And if you prefer taking dabs, possession of less than one gram of concentrate is a felony with a sentence of 180 days to two years in prison. However, some cities in Texas have made progress with decriminalizing the drug at a local level.

Thankfully, Devin the Dude isn’t locked up and is still making some fire country rap tunes to get stoned to. Check out his latest project, Acoustic Levitation today.
