Dave East releases the mixtape "Black Rose"

Dave East “Black Rose” Mixtape

After dropping the music video for his “Broke,” Harlem representative Dave East unleashes the 15-track mixtape Black Rose. The project features production from Sean C & LV, Buda, and more. On first listen, you may think Dave East is a typical Harlem cat, but his music and demeanor are far from that. Black Rose showcases a new twist on New York sound that is organic. His unique voice takes concepts in rap that have floated around for the last year, and reimagines them through the eyes of a 25-year-old coming up in Harlem.

Our picks: “Ghost,” “Around Here,” “The Town,” and “Hangover.”
