Bodega Education Initiative at the 2013 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival

Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Brooklyn Boedga Education Initiative

Tonight’s Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival event seeks to drop knowledge on attendees as Brooklyn Bodega presents the “Bodega Education Initiative.” It’ll be an opportunity for past and present “Show & Prove” artists to come in and refine their development skills and goals. Resources like festival staff and, hip hop PR, journalists, and strategists will all be on deck to help guide and direct the discussions.

Jay Shells Rap Quotes Project Guru Gang Starr Work Street Sign

New York City-based artist Jay Shells of the The Rap Quotes project designed tonight’s “Brooklyn Bodega Initiative” flyer with lines from Gang Starr’s “Work” off their 1997 highly-acclaimed Moment Of Truth album. Guru (Rest In Peace) says it best, “I put in work, and watch my status escalate.” Take heed young scrappers!

Grab tickets to tomorrow’s “Family Day,” final day concert (featuring Redman, EPMD, and Pusha T), and “Salute The DJ Afterparty” right here.
