The New ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Trailer Looks Nuts!
Still no clue about what's happening
The first Blade Runner 2049 promo followed the blueprint of most teasers for blockbuster films, in that it revealed mostly nothing. The enigmatic clip, featured Ryan Gosling stalking around in a baller jacket, Harrison Ford looking weathered and a dystopian depiction of Southern California. It looked like director Denis Villeneuve was making a worthy followup to Ridley Scott’s science fiction classic.
Today the first official trailer was released, and not much more is revealed. Gosling is still stalking around in that baller jacket, Ford is still whispering ominous nothings, Jared Leto is getting to be as weird as he wants to be and there’s flying cars.
Thankfully, House of Cards star Robin Wright offers up a pivotal piece of dialogue, “If this gets out, we’ve bought ourselves a war,” which at least provides some insight on the film’s primary premise.
Enjoy the trailer above to get a sneak peek of the madness coming on to October 6.
