PREMIERE: Big Twins x DJ Skizz ft. Conway The Machine “Keith Sweat Murda Muzik”
Killin' em over that smooth sh*t
One of the best parts of the dissolution of the music industry, is the freedom artists have to collaborate. You see all kinds of MCs and producers doing full joint albums monthly…if not weekly. When you buy streams or physicals of these artists projects, it is usually going directly to them. We like that.
Although DJ Skizz dropped a heavy compilation last summer that featured a literal who’s who of this new wave of hardcore rap, he is more known for working closely with one artist at a time. His material with Your Old Droog from a couple of years back put both of them on the map. And he recently shared production duties with Marco Polo on a Milano Constantine album that was one of the best releases of 2017 so far. Now, he’s ready to hit us with an EP from one of his earliest collaborators, Big Twins. This QB general should be familiar to Mobb Deep fans, as he was a member of the Infamous Mobb and appeared on many of Hav and P’s classic albums. But really anybody listening to quality rap should know Twins because he has been on tracks by everyone from Hus Kingpin to Jamo Gang to Boldy James this year alone.
Today MASS APPEAL brings you a first look at the video for “Keith Sweat Murda Muzik,” the first single off their Billy Ocean EP. The song features none other than The Machine himself, Conway. That should come as no surprise to fans of any of these artists, as they have worked together a number of times over the years.
The visuals that accompany the smoothed out sounds of “Keith Sweat Murda Muzik” are more like a mini movie. The gravelly-voiced Twins and the grimiest out, aka Conway, each unload a clip of bars at a private patio party, while Skizz sips Henny. This hazy hangout is bookended by a subplot involving the Snowgoons and a daylight drug deal. It seems clear the way the video closes that this will be Part 1 in a series. If you haven’t hit play already, what are you waiting for?
Big Twins x DJ Skizz’s Billy Ocean EP is set to drop later this month on Different Worlds Music Group.
