It truly wouldn’t truly be 4/20 without a smoked out offering from the iron-lunged duo of Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa. In between tokes, both rappers spit about getting too stoned, showing up with too much weed and needing a little help from your friends to smoke the sack. Tragic situations, for sure. The song, a trap-inflected lullaby with a soothing string section, was produced by Memphis, Tennessee’s Crazy Mike. Looks like we’re gonna have to update today’s epic weed rap playlist. –Kyle Petreycik

Big Boi

Big Boi is so capable of rapping over a wide range of beats. Versatility, I imagine, was a necessary trait for being one half of Outkast. After a lengthy absence from the solo scene (his last release was 2015’s collaborative project with Phantograms), he returns with a disco-infused song with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. Like on past lead singles, “Shutterbug” for instance, Big’s hand is steady as he prepares to dive into another album, cutting through the many niches that define today’s landscape and delivering straight-up raps. –Khari Nixon

Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane just enjoyed his first Coachella experience and it was enough to inspire him to deliver another new loose cut. Better than getting a flower crown! Part of what made Gucci’s early mixtape music so compelling was how wayward it could be in its direction while still sounding coherent. It embodied the rhythmic chaos that defined Gucci’s persona. On “Coachella” the since mellowed out figure recalls that oldscattered brilliance. DropTopWizop on the way. –KN

Jay Silva
“Diles (Jay Silva Jersey Edit)”

The world definitely needs more Latin club, so salute to Jay Silva for this Jersey club edit of the Spanish R&B blockbuster “Diles.” The original (which is up to 310 million views on YouTube right now) was a smooth bedroom jam featuring Farruko, who you might remember from The Bronx Whine, Arcangel and a gang of other reggaeton stars. Silva, who is from Chihuahua, Mexico, speeds things up with a fast but clean club rhythm peppered with tiny bed squeaks, claves and a pitched-up sample of the original melody. It’s got a few different switches in the beat and the vocals are largely intact. The term Latin club was coined by Paterson, New Jersey’s Cueheat, but it definitely applies here, too. –Mike Steyels

Since most folks have already gotten into the spirit of kicking back and sparking up a fat one today, we’ve decided to follow their lead and leave you with a calming track until the world returns to reality tomorrow. Little is known about Canadian producer [ bsd.u ], but we don’t mind a bit of mystery. At times its hard to parse out the song’s inspiration, though from under all those wavy synth layers you can distinctly hear Lil Kim’s 2003 “The Jump Off.” –KP
