Banner Hung Off Manhattan Bridge To Protest Muslim Ban
"Build Bridges, Not Walls."
A banner reading “Build Bridges, Not Walls” hung defiantly under the Manhattan Bridge this morning. Unfortunately, the banner was swiftly removed at about 9 a.m. by DOT workers and the NYPD, but not before it was forever immortalized in photos. Like the message that was spray painted on the Brooklyn Bridge, no one has taken credit for the action, yet.
Since Friday’s executive order barring 140,000,000 visitors from Muslim-majority countries, New Yorkers have been passionately speaking out against President Trump’s Muslim ban with widespread protests across the city, including a demonstration at JFK that attracted thousands.
Despite widespread condemnation by Democrats, Republicans, and world leaders about how the order was rolled out without notice, leaving thousands of travelers in legal limbo, the Trump administration said the ban will remain in place.
“It’s working out very nicely,” said Mr. Trump.
