Back To Work – The 2013 Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival Kickoff Party

This year’s Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival jumps off with a bang thanks to Brooklyn Bodega and the sounds of J. Period, DJ Jenny Blaze and the Mobile Mondays! Crew. The eclectic gathering of vinyl spinners will be playing nothing but 45’s all night at the Dumbo Loft (155 Water Street) located in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn.

The Rap Quotes Jay Shells EPMD Employees Of The Year Party Street Sign Brooklyn Bodega

New York City-based artist Jay Shells of the The Rap Quotes project sprinkles on some major hip hop points and authenticity to the evening (and the entire listing of festival events) by adding his touch to the unique street sign-based flyer art. Tonight’s “Back To Work” theme quotes Long Island’s legendary duo EPMD‘s breakout track “So Wat Cha Sayin” off their sophomore Back To Business album. Chalk two birds with one stone, as the group is also affiliated with the festival by way of live performance at this Saturday’s Family Day festivities.

Grab tickets to tonight’s “Back To Work” kickoff party and all of the other events going down for the festival right here.
