Alumni x FILA Overpass “Beef Patty”

Most food-themed shoe releases teeter the line between original and kitchy. However, Brooklyn-based Alumni’s collaborative take on the FILA Overpass runner is definitely one of the doper ones we’ve seen.

Paying homage to the brand’s Crown Heights and Flatbush roots, which is home to a large West Indies population, Alumni is releasing “Beef Patty” themed sneakers. The Overpass features a yellow pigskin suede upper, including embossing on the toe box to represent the crust of the beef pastry and a white midsole. Meanwhile, a translucent outsole showcases a beef patty motif.

To celebrate the release of the kicks, Alumni took it upon themselves to introduce the New York food staple to people that have never experienced the flaky bliss of a beef patty. And of course, hilarity ensues.

The Alumni x FILA Overpass “Beef Patty” is slated to drop July 9 in-store and online from Alumni.
