Earlier this week, Jimmy Fallon did a parody of the opening credits from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and last night, the host had Will Smith himself on The Tonight Show. After sharing some laughs over the parody, Fallon brought out an iPad to create beatbox loops. Fallon deemed himself a “classically trained beatboxer,” but the duo proceeded to engage in some recorded layering. After adding bass, treble, hi-hats, some “Yeah! Woo!”adlibs, it became clear where the two were planning to go.
Smith and Fallon proceeded to go back and forth over the beat, rapping a special version of “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. Of course, The Roots joined with additional instrumentation.
