There’s just something about the southern United States. The combination of down-South hospitality mixed with strange creepy after-notes, thick accents, and distrust of “city folk.” Forgotten graveyards, empty theme parks, and abandoned neighborhoods mix with warm tropical breezes, genuinely colorful smiles, and if not a FEAR OF GOD, at least a relationship with the big dude-bro. So we wandered. We parked. We plotted. We ate. We watched. We listened. And for a few days we shot, acquiring a jumbled collection of alligator parts, voodoo coins, and B&E charges. Hunting and gathering our way across this great American roadscape as we meandered the Flood Zone and 9th Ward, exploring the structures and landscapes that Mother Earth has decided will be Hers again for a while.
