They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but Snoop Dogg ain’t your average canine. The West Coast emcee and transcendent personality is embarking on some new territory. Partnering up with Happy Socks, Snoop Dogg expresses and displays the advantages of finding other avenues to further express his creativity.
In the video clip, presented by DAZED, Snoop speaks a bit on the role that art, specifically painting, has played in his life.
“For many years I’ve always felt like painting was something that I wanted to do, but I never had time to do,” Tha Doggfather explains. “Painting gives me an emotion like no other. I could cry while I’m painting. I can laugh while I’m painting. I can be serious while I’m painting. I don’t have no parameters. When I’m rapping there’s certain things I can’t do. When I’m acting there’s certain things I can’t do. There’s certain things I won’t do. But with the painting, there’s no limit.”
Earlier this year while chilling at the Palazzo Versace Australia, Snoop was inspired by some cushions in the room, and took paint to canvas. The hotel staff was going to keep it internal initially, but they started getting calls about the painting, and the piece ended up selling for around $10,200.
