Nearly a year after teaming up with Reebok on the Capsule Collection release, Sweden’s Salong Betong are back at it to help ring in 30 years of the Reebok Classic Leather.
First, the Stockholm-based collective clue us in on their design goals for their premium pair, and then take us along from start to finish on an artistic mission to further celebrate the collaboration.
According to Felix den Lycklige of Salong Betong:
“We wanted to make a classy, ’clean’ and seemingly simple black sneaker, but if you have a closer look you will find that we have been working with exclusive materials, structures and different black shades. The high quality materials and brogue patterns makes it suitable for all occasions – both casual and more dressed up ones. Our Classic Leather comes with flat, black, waxed laces and with white, round ones.”
In the clip we see Felix and Bleckan go from sketching up ideas in the lab, to a complete top to bottom spray can mural adorned with a set of bone white Classics.
The kicks release in limited numbers through Caliroots Feb 23.
