Miami’s Art Basel festival is quickly becoming Mardi Gras for graf’ writers. Since 2002, the Basel section of Miami Beach has become a haven for artists to display their work as well as let loose on the night life that Miami has to offer.
Klughaus teamed up with Rime and Seventh Letter to document what Art Basel’s all about–paint, partying, and chaos. In the video above the crew consisting of Rime, Anthony Lister, Dzee, Smart Crew,Vor138, and more set off to bring the festival directly to the streets of South Beach, Miami Beach and the Wynwood Arts District. Rolling down the Miami streets like an infantry, the crew took their bombed U-haul trucks–along with the party–on the road and captured every minute of the mayhem.
Highlights of the video include Rime feasting on some magical mushrooms, Mr.Greens’s mix using vocal samples from the trip around the 5 min mark, and the random hi-jinx of the Miami natives including a rapping I-hop worker. Check out the 10-minute mini-doc above and some pictures from the trip below. Women, drugs, paint, and music . . . this is what we call a party.
